NewS in the European Parliament

On the 18th of october 2005  the NewS programme was represented at a seminar on REACH in the European Parliament. The seminar was arranged in collaboration with the International Chemicals Secretariat and was officially hosted by MEP Guido Sacconi, (ENVI rapporteur on REACH) and MEP Lena Ek, (ITRE-rapporteur on REACH).

The theme of the seminar was "Science and Politics: Where does REACH stand?" and presentations were given by Prof. Tina K. Jensen ("The consequences of chemicals on our reproductive health. The need to increase our knowledge about chemicals."
Prof. Åke Bergman ("What knowledge is available on exposure?), and
Dr. Andreas Kortenkamp ("What is risk assessment? What information is needed for a sound decision").

The seminar attracted over 100 participants.
