Strategic decisions based on environment and safety
Many decision-making situations today affect both risk and environment. In practice many of these decisions are made without an overall view and decisions are made within one of these frames. Now and then these two areas of regulations are at conflict, i.e. the best alternative according to environmental considerations is not always the most safe way and vice versa.
The aim of this project is to construct a tool where the issues of environmental and safety concerns are integrated and decisions can be made with regards both to environmental and safety concerns. We will study a case with regards to environmental and safety. Such a relevant issue is the decision of disposial of explosives. This is an example where the environmental aspects may be in conflict with the regulation of (personel) safety, for exemple in case of open burning or detonation.
