Strategies for Ecodesign within the defence sector
The project discusses different tools of enviornmental assessment that can be used within the acquisition process as well as within other decision-making processes connected with defence materiel. The overall aim is to, together with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the industry develop simplified and cost-effective methods to include environmental issues in the defence materiel acquisition process. Different enviornmental assessment tools are suggested and related to different environmental management approaches. Activities for 2008 involve the review and adaptation of methods to include enviornmental costs into the FMV tool for life-cycle costing.
