Continued Education
Continued education is intended for professionals who are
working in the field of geodesy or geoinformatics and who wish
to update their knowledge, e.g. on new surveying technologies
or instruments. Additional education is also useful for
scientists and engineers working in other fields than surveying
and mapping who need knowledge on specific topics.
The division of geodesy offers introduction courses and
workshops within different areas. The introduction courses take
3 - 6 hours and give an overview about a specific topic. They
can be recommended for decision makers within private or public
companies. Currently we offer the following introduction
courses:
- Surveying and navigation with GNSS (Global Navigation
Satellite Systems)
- Airborne and terrestrial laser scanning
The goal of these courses is to give the participants the
answers to questions like: How does it work? What equipment is
necessary? What is the accuracy? What are the applications?
The workshops give the participants more detailed knowledge
about the subject, which is necessary to perform, check or
order a project. We offer workshops in the following areas:
Total station check and free stationing (will be given in September
2010)
- Introduction of technology for evaluation and
verification of the accuracy of total station
measurements
- Free stationing using inner reference technology
- Practical measurements and computation
Manufacturing Excellence Control (will be given in September
2010)
- Practical and theoretical introduction to flatness,
straightness and roundness
- Determination of surface irregularities from scanned data
using inner reference technology
Global Navigation Satellite Systems
- Basic principles of satellite positioning
- Error sources and their elimination, error budget
- Surveying and navigation with GPS
- Precise point positioning
- Practical exercises: static and RTK surveys and data
processing
- Language: English or Swedish
Airborne laser scanning
- Basic principles: laser, inertial sensors, GPS
- Error sources and their elimination, error budget
- Planning of airborne laser scanning mission
- Data processing
- Production of ortophoto and height models
- Language: English or Swedish
Terrestrial laser scanning
- Basic principles: laser, electronic distance
measurement
- Error sources and their elimination, error budget
- Registration and transformation of point cloud
- Modelling
- Practical measurement
- Language: English or Swedish
